Monitor firm health from one dashboard

Firm-health questions — what is overdue, who is overloaded, what does recurring revenue look like — each require a different export today. By the time the numbers are assembled, they describe last month. Partners end up managing by anecdote between spreadsheet rebuilds.

Canadian accounting professionals — Monitor firm health from one dashboard

Firms monitor practice health in SpidNums from a dashboard of KPI cards, a Needs attention list, and a recurring-revenue chart built from the services and prices on the client book. Team workload is computed live — clients handled and open tasks per person — and every date on the page carries the shared SLA colour rule, so "how are we doing" is a glance, not an export.

How firms run it, step by step

  1. Read the KPI cards

The dashboard opens on the headline numbers, so the day starts from the same figures for every partner.

  2. Work the Needs attention list

Items going wrong surface in one list, ranked by the SLA rule — red and orange first. It is a triage queue, not a report.

  3. Check recurring revenue

The recurring-revenue chart reflects the recurring services and prices on the client book, so it moves when the catalogue and assignments move — no spreadsheet in between.

  4. Scan team workload

Each staff member's clients handled and open tasks are computed live from assignments, so an overload shows before the person has to say so.

  5. Drill into what is red

Colours trace back to the underlying clients and tasks. The fix happens in Task Master, and the dashboard reflects it as statuses change inline.

Frequently asked questions

What does the SpidNums dashboard actually show?

KPI cards, a Needs attention list of items closest to trouble, and a recurring-revenue chart derived from the services and prices assigned across the client book. It reads from live records — clients, services, tasks — rather than from imported reports.

How are the SLA colours decided?

One shared rule everywhere: green when more than seven days remain, orange within seven days, red when due or overdue. Because the rule is uniform, a red item means the same thing on the dashboard, the task board, and the reminder feed.

Can we see who on the team is overloaded?

Yes. Workload per staff member — clients handled and open tasks — is computed live from current assignments. Rebalancing means reassigning clients or tasks, and the numbers update as the assignments change.
