Canadian firms anchor 2027 on a handful of CRA dates: T4 and T5 slips by the last day of February, T1 returns April 30 (June 15 for the self-employed, with payment still April 30), T3 trust returns 90 days after year-end, T2 returns six months after each corporation's fiscal year-end, and GST/HST on each client's reporting cadence.

January to March: slips, trusts and the ramp
Slip data is reconciled in January and filed by the last day of February. Trust returns fall 90 days after year-end, which for December year-ends means March 31. Personal instalments are due March 15. The quarter is busier than its reputation.
April to June: T1 season and the June 15 tail
April 30 is the filing and payment deadline for most individuals. June 15 is the filing deadline for the self-employed and their spouses, with any balance still due April 30. The June tail is where firms lose files that were parked in April.
The all-year T2 clock
Every corporate client's T2 is due six months after its own year-end, with the balance due two or three months after it. There is no month in 2027 without a corporate filing or payment date for a firm with a normal spread of year-ends.
GST/HST by cadence, all year
Monthly and quarterly filers are due one month after each period. Annual filers are due three months after fiscal year-end, except individuals with business income and a December year-end, who file June 15 and pay April 30.
Payroll remittances every month
Regular remitters are due the 15th of the following month. Quarterly remitters are due April 15, July 15, October 15 and January 15. Accelerated remitters run on twice-monthly or weekly schedules.
RRSP and instalment dates clients ask about
RRSP contributions for the prior year must be made within the first 60 days of the calendar year. Personal instalments fall March 15, June 15, September 15 and December 15. These are the two dates clients call about unprompted.
Weekend and holiday shifts in 2027
Where a due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, the CRA treats the next business day as on time. Compute each shifted date against the 2027 calendar before publishing or circulating this list — do not carry forward last year's shifted dates.
Frequently asked questions
When is the tax deadline in Canada for 2027?
Most individuals must file and pay by April 30. Self-employed individuals and their spouses or common-law partners have until June 15 to file, with any balance still due April 30. Where a date falls on a weekend or public holiday, the next business day applies.
When are T4 slips due in 2027?
By the last day of February following the calendar year, for both filing with the CRA and distributing copies to employees. Confirm the exact date against the 2027 calendar, since the deadline shifts to the next business day when it falls on a weekend.
Are corporate tax deadlines the same for every company?
No. Each corporation's T2 is due six months after its own fiscal year-end, and its tax balance is due two or three months after that year-end. A firm with clients on different year-ends has corporate deadlines in every month of the year.
Do CRA deadlines move for weekends?
Yes. Where a filing or payment deadline falls on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday recognized by the CRA, a submission received on the next business day is treated as on time. Each year's shifted dates should be computed rather than assumed.
